Over $3000 donated to fallen Bridgeport Firefighters family fund through generosity of Easton Citizens
During our annual carnival a well-worn firefighter's boot was placed at a booth. On it was a sign telling people that it was for donations to the families of two Bridgeport Firefighters who recently lost their lives in the line of duty.
Eastonites and visitors responded with typical generosity, eventually placing $1500 in the boot. The EVFC voted to match the amount collected, thus allowing for a donation of over $3000.
The funds are expected to go in large part to defray college costs for children of the fallen firefighters.
